This album was made as a tribute to honor my Dad, Thomas Germanovich Sr, the greatest man who ever lived and who is missed dearly every day.
Growing up, one of my earliest memories was watching my Dad play and beat The Legend of Zelda for the NES. I attribute my love of video games, especially Zelda, to these moments and cherish them. When I woke up at the beginning of this month, I realized that in a few short weeks, it would be the 2 year anniversary of when my Dad lost his life on February 21st, 2015 during his valiant battle against cancer. I knew my Dad wouldn't want me to sit around letting the sadness consume me so I decided that I was going to spend my time doing something as a tribute to him and to share it with my family in hopes of shedding a little light on our darkest day. I decided to learn and record the music Koji Kondo brought to the NES that had become so iconic and influential. I tried to stay as true to the NSF as possible. Currently I have one track finished. Release of the whole album will be as soon as it's ready. I just wanted to have something to release today.
This was my first foray into recording and VGM. covers of some of my favorite VGM songs. feel free to hit me up with a request! http://www.bdcwire.com/review-anything-august-phoenix-down-lets-mosey/ deadhand
